Dr Bilel Jideh

BMedSci (Hon), MBBS (Hon), FRACP

Dr Bilel Jideh is a Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist with subspecialist training in Advanced Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He completed a Bachelor of Medical Science (First-class Honours) and Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (Honours) at the University of Sydney before embarking on a career in gastroenterology. 

He trained in gastroenterology at major tertiary teaching hospitals in Sydney before undertaking a two-year fellowship in Advanced Endoscopy at the world-renowned endoscopy unit at Westmead Hospital, Sydney, under the direct supervision of Professor Michael Bourke and colleague expert endoscopists. During this period expertise was gained in:

  • Complex polypectomy and endoscopic mucosal resection of large polyps
  • Treatment of Barrett’s oesophagus
  • Endoscopic Ultrasound (gastro-oesophageal and pancreaticobiliary)
  • Balloon-assisted enteroscopy
  • Small bowel video capsule endoscopy

Dr Jideh has a strong background in clinical research and teaching. He has presented at gastroenterology conferences, published in high-impact journals, and is currently a Conjoint Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney involved in the training and education of medical students, junior doctors and future specialists.

With an interest in all aspects of gastroenterology, hepatology and advanced gastrointestinal endoscopy, Dr Jideh is passionate about delivering high-quality care that ensures the best possible patient outcomes. He is a Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) at Nepean Public Hospital and Nepean Private Hospital.
